Marty Easling founded Easling Construction Company in 1976. Over the last 47 years, Marty and his team have been committed to offering the best possible service and the most exceptional craftsmanship to each and every client.
It was with that commitment to exceptional service and unmatched craftsmanship in mind that Marty began to develop his vision for the future of the company. After much consideration, Marty determined there was no better way for the company to move into the future than for the employees who helped him make the company the successful Northern Michigan institution that it is today to take ownership.
In December of 2019 that vision became a reality when the company transitioned from Marty’s ownership to 100% Employee Ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Today, as an Employee Owned Company, each member of the Easling Construction Co. team holds a stake in ensuring that Marty’s legacy of exceptional quality and top-notch customer service will continue for years to come.
Located near Leland, we work throughout Leelanau County and the Grand Traverse region.
As one of the largest and oldest construction companies in the area, Easling Construction Co. has a uniquely broad range of experienced employees. Most of our employees have been with the company for years, many for decades, and they are craftsmen in the truest sense of the word. Whereas other contractors subcontract work out, our vast and talented group of employees allow us to provide, in-house, virtually all of the services you will need for your project.
From foundation work to blockwork, concrete work, rough carpentry, roofing, insulation, drywall, cabinetry, finish carpentry, ceramic tile, hardwood floors, and painting – our employees do it all. This means we are able to control both the schedule and the quality of the work ensuring our standards for excellence are always met. Marty Easling
PRESIDENT & DIRECTOR
Marty founded Easling Construction Co. in 1976 and, even today, he sets the expectations for customer service at the highest possible level – from the initial contact through completion of the project our clients receive personal attention in a professional matter.
In order to ensure Easling Construction Co. is able to provide this personal attention and hands-on management to every project and every client, Marty has developed a management team that prides itself on honesty, dependability, and personal pride in the Company’s well-earned reputation.

Jason Klingelsmith
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER & DIRECTOR
Jason has worked side-by-side with Marty since he joined the Company in 2006 and has been an integral part of the Company’s transition from Marty’s sole ownership to being Employee Owned.
As the CEO and Director of the Company, Jason oversees the Company’s daily operations and works directly with the jobsite foremen, home owners, architects, designers, and material vendors to ensure unparalleled quality and outcomes for each and every customer.

Julie Meade
CONTROLLER / HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Julie joined the Easling Construction Co. team in the spring 2019. She is a graduate of Davenport University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Specialization.
Julie oversees the daily financial and administrative operations of Easling Construction Co. managing the Company’s general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, human resources, and in-house administration of the Company’s Profit Sharing and Employee Stock Ownership Plans Plans.

Charles Hall
ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER
Charlie joined the Easling Construction Co. team in the fall of 2020. He is a graduate of Ferris State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management.
In his present role, Charlie works as an Assistant Project Manager preparing estimates, ordering materials, and assisting the foremen with managing the daily operations on job sites.
